In my last post, I talked about clearly defining and getting to know your audience as the first step in effective content marketing. So in this post, I’m going to get a little into Step 2:
Getting those articles out there! Sure, you could write a ton of articles showing off your expertise and simply posting them on your blog. But is that enough? Eh. Not really; there’s so much more you can do to ensure that your audience gets wind of your message. A great way to do this is via article banks that showcase articles from a plethora of experts in various fields. Free for use as website or blog content (provided that the article & author’s bio are kept intact and unchanged), article banks can give your content lots of mileage. If you’re looking for guest blogging opportunities, MyBlogGuest.com is a good resource for spreading your article love around as well. Other content distribution ideas include answering questions on Yahoo! Answers, discussion boards and forums.
Also, when writing new posts for your own blog, include links to previous, related articles as much as possible—that way, readers have exposure to several of your posts instead of just one. If you blog with WordPress, you may want to check out the “Yet Another Related Posts Plugin (YARPP),” which automatically generates a list of posts & pages related to a specific entry.
Next: It’s not how much content you have—but how good it is!
